Borough Green to Sevenoaks Walk

Details of route can be found on Saturday Walkers Club website.

After doing a hike with Outdooraholics the previous weekend, I woke up on Saturday and decided to to a hike of my own.

After Googling "day walks near London" I found a website called  Saturday Walkers Club where I could pick from 100s of walks. I chose one at random in the county of Kent – a workmate who was from there had told me it was a nice area. The chosen one was Borough Green to Sevenoaks Walk.

The site said to allow at least 8 hours 30 minutes. I left at 2.30 in the afternoon. 4 hours before sunset 😬.

I saved the instructions on my Kindle – which was a great idea cause I could follow them easily without worrying about the phone on my battery dying – and they were super easy to read.

Taken: 3:38pm - 14/10/17

The first place I stopped was a viewing platform over a lake (see image). It also had a sign for identifying birds and I learned what a coot is. I have a video of one coughing in the Camden Canal which I’ll linkto.

Further on after going through the village of Plaxtol I came upon Fairlawne Estate. It was had big grounds that the trail went through.

Later came to Ightham Mote. Followed by lavender fields. The final point of interest was Knole before reaching civilization on the high street of Sevenoaks.
